Hello and welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Camille Otillio.
I came to UX through a passion for Cognitive Science. I have always loved learning about people and what makes them tick. How people perceive the world, and go about interacting with it has always been the perfect mystery.
At UCSC, and as a UX researcher being involved in conducting research satisfied my curious inner self, but I wanted to be able to use my empathy, creativity, and insights about people’s deeper motivations to inform action and ease challenges.
Working with a community of people who are blind and low vision opened my eyes to how much technology can make a difference.
As a designer, I want to be instrumental in enhancing people’s daily lives.
Design Focus
Accessibility! Accessibility! Accessibility! Accessibility should be an integral part of the UX process, never an afterthought. While the WCAG guidelines offer a jumping off point for accessibility, I still see so many places where people with disabilities are not included in the same way we look for insight from non-disabled people. I want to shift UX from the inside out. What are you doing to ensure that your products not only meet a list of accessibility guidelines, but also delight and inspire?
